The young singer/songwriter/producer Maggie Rogers became an immediate sensation last year thanks to her strange and endearing hybrid of bright and chipper pop, bloopy dance, and coffeehouse-style folk. Tomorrow, she’ll release Now That The Light Is Fading, her debut EP. And last night, she made her TV debut on The Tonight Show, where she performed “Alaska,” her breakout single. On the show’s stage, she seemed poised and confident. Her vocals were strong, and she made a brave attempt at doing herky-jerk alone-in-your-room dancing, a brave thing to do on a national stage.
