Thao Nguyen released her latest finely-crafted album with the Get Down Stay Down, A Man Alive, early last year, and today she’s back to remind us of how great it was with a new video for “Meticulous Bird.” Nguyen takes over an abandoned grocery store, and turns into a surreal fantasy with a lot of evocative dancing. “Director Jonny Look gave me the opportunity to present the song in all its facets: the darkness, the dark humor, the unfettered anger and the complexities of moving on from violation and how the memory of trespass rises to the fore and then recedes into the every day,” Nguyen told NPR, who debuted the video.
