DC rapper Shy Glizzy officially changed his name to Jefe a few months ago, but it seems that he’s come to his senses and readopted his original and far better moniker. But I’m personally convinced he returned to the former title just to facilitate the incredibly silly concept behind his new single with 21 Savage. Over a soulful street beat, Glizzy proudly boasts that, “I don’t need no ID/ I’m with 21,” before 21 then comes in and opens his verse with an equally dumb pun, “I left my glizzy at my house/ Cause I was with the Glizzys.” These are two rappers who have built their reputations on menace, but their camaraderie on “No I.D.” makes them sound honestly kind of adorable.
