Remember when LCD Soundsystem played five farewell shows in NYC culminating in a Madison Square Garden performance that was memorialized in a documentary? Yah? Well, they’re doing something … similar … to commemorate the opening of new venue Brooklyn Steel, except that they’re not breaking up any time soon (it seems) and they’re headlining a ton of festivals this summer.
LCD Soundsystem will play the first five shows at the new Brooklyn venue on 4/6, 4/7, 4/8, 4/10, and 4/11. The 1,800-capacity venue will open next week, and the artists scheduled to perform at the venue in the coming months include the Decemberists, PJ Harvey, Pixies, Two Door Cinema Club, Tycho, Chairlift, Real Estate, Whitney, Mitski, and more.
Tickets for LCD Soundsystem’s shows will go on sale this Thursday (3/30) at noon EST. A limited number of tickets for each show will be available to purchase in-person at the Mercury Lounge and Music Hall Of Williamsburg box offices — the line for that starts at 11AM EST on Thursday. There’s a two-ticket limit per person per night.
