UPDATE: TMZ now quotes Journey’s rep saying, “We have just spoken with Steve Perry’s manager and he confirmed to us that he will NOT be performing tonight.” 🙁

But ya never know at these things! Will Perry accept Journey with open arms? Or will they go their separate ways after the speeches? We will keep you posted! Don’t stop believin’.

UPDATE 2: Perry accepted the honor, and met his replacement in Journey for the first time, but did not perform.

Contrary to prior reports, Steve Perry will not “skedaddle” after accepting Journey’s induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame tonight. Instead, according to TMZ, Perry will stick around and perform with his old band during the ceremony, which takes place tonight at the Barclays Center. It’ll be the first time he’s performed with them in over 25 years since they appeared together on 11/03/91.

TMZ says that Journey will do three songs tonight — “Lights,” “Separate Ways,” and “Don’t Stop Believin'” — and that Perry will sing on at least one of them.
