In the French website La Blogothèque’s long-running Take Away Shows video series, artists perform, unamplified and with no special lighting, in everyday locations. Mac DeMarco just released his new album This Old Dog, and in his newly-released Take Away Show, which he taped back in February, he walks around a Paris park, playing the album’s title track and “Still Breathing.” He also explains that “Still Breathing” was his attempt to write a song like the La’s’ “There She Goes,” and he goofs around mid-song with a Parisian teenager and an older guy who may or may not be drunk.
