Lady Gaga Asks People To Stop Bullying Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran recently announced that he’s quitting Twitter because “I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things.” The polarizing pop royalty added, “The head-fuck for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much.” (Maybe it has to do with his tendency to liberally borrow from other people’s songs, his collection of objectionable tattoos, or his habit of covering rap songs in acoustic pop style as if it’s the cutest and most original idea ever?) Now, as Billboard points out, Sheeran’s fellow pop A-lister Lady Gaga has come to his defense. In an Instagram post, Gaga writes:
What an incredible talented artist I LOVE ED. [He] deserves all our love and respect like all humans do. I wish all people on the internet would be positive and loving and apart of creating an online community that is kind and empowering, not hateful and mean. No reason to tear down an artist simply because they are on top. Work harder to be kinder everybody. That should be your first duty to humanity.
That settles it, people: Leave Ed Sheeran alone!
