Watch Grizzly Bear Debut Painted Ruins Songs At Portland, ME Tour Opener

Grizzly Bear are releasing Painted Ruins, their first album in five years, at the end of the week. After releasing their great “Mourning Sound” video yesterday, they kicked off their tour in support of the album last night at the State Theatre in Portland, Maine. Aside from a gig at a Bernie Sanders rally last year, it was the first public Grizzly Bear performance in three and a half years, which means it also marked the live debut for more than half the Painted Ruins tracklist, including some songs that haven’t yet been released. Check out footage of two of those unreleased titles, “Losing All Sense” and “Glass Hillside,” below via YouTube user Jeff Beam.

Painted Ruins is out 8/18 via RCA. Ed Droste mentioned on stage that actress Busy Philipps, who attended last night’s performance, will star in the video for “Losing All Sense,” so be on the lookout for that.
