It’s true, Kanye’s made the entire internet into a workshop for his new material. But he’s still getting feedback the old fashioned way, approaching strangers in airports, armed with headphones and an iPod, asking for opinions on his unreleased tracks. At least according to Jenny Lewis, who tells EW.com:

We missed our flight and had to wait a couple of hours in the lounge. I noticed Kanye West was waiting for the same flight. He looked over and said, ’Excuse me, would you mind listening to my new track?’ And so he put his headphones on my head and I listened to two of his new songs. He had no idea who I was. I guess he was doing research.

Best part of that story: Now we know what Kanye believes his core demo looks like. Anyway, sorry he’s not a big Rilo fan, Jenny. But at least he didn’t ask if you were “a real redhead.”

    hilarious.
    and accurate.

  5. I definitely want to see Be Kind, Rewind-esque remakes of Kanye videos by Jenny Lewis. “Flashing Lights” anybody? Strong correlations between that one and the “Money Maker” video…

“He had no idea who I was.”

    So, who are you?

  14. I would’ve thought that Kanye would have at least seen The Wizard

    • Nope, he’s too busy playing Connect 4 with Beyonce to watch great 80′s movies.

it’s funny how RZA, GZA et al. play chess together and relate life to chess and Kanye plays milton bradley games with Jay-Zs girlfriend

i can just see him and his G.O.O.D crew not smoking weed and playing mouse trap together while they think of different ways to describe their clothes while rhyming
