When not talking to fans or blowing-out eardrums at ATP, MBV mastermind Kevin Shields sat down and gave a rare interview to the Times. His details about the early days are fascinating, but more exciting? “I realized that all that stuff I was doing in 1996 and 1997 was a lot better than I thought.” He plans to complete that third album, and to start recording new material with the band in the fall. Read for yourself.

wouldn’t this technically be their 4th album? Or does Ecstasy and Wine not count as a full-length?

    • That’s two previous less-than-LP recordings (Strawberry Wine + Ecstasy) combined, so it’s technically a compilation. This would be the third proper studio album.

great shows (an understatement) at roseland, felt real lucky to be there, a real cathartic and overwhelming experience, screw all the pretenders of today

and now for a slowdive reunion someday? probably more unlikely, one can hope though
