How punk rock of them. It’s signed by The Sex Pistols but it sounds mostly like Johnny. I was never big on The Pistols but I still think they should have accepted the induction.

I really wish there were a band as powerful as the Pistols today, though. The Pistols really had the ability to piss people off. Nobody seems to be able to do that nowadays. Maybe Kanye West. “George Bush doesn’t care about black people” was probably the most punk rock moment since Jarvis Cocker mooned Michael Jackson.

Since when have the Sex Pistols had any credibility? I think it’s great that any band would do this and it’s applaud the Pistols for having the guts to do it.

It’s sad to see Pistols guitarist Steve Jones has sunk to promoting MySpace & some local car dealer (in what may be the more horrid radio commercials ever!) on his show, while dissing the R&R HOF. By the way, didn’t he recently pose for an upcoming Rolling Stone cover? That’s about as punk as Wal-Mart.

Art is art, not when it’s good or bad, but only when it cannot be ignored. How many of the people writing here wish THEY had created “Never Mind the Bollocks”? Yeah, look at all those hands. The Live Pistols CD from 1996 proves they weren’t just a bunch of drugged and drunken hacks.
The one problem with this letter is that it should have been completely predictable. What the Pistols SHOULD do is play at the ceremony as secret special guests, and throw rotten tomatoes at the tuxedoed crowd at the end of their one song.

And they WERE a bunch of drugged and drunken “hacks”. 1996 was more than a decade after the sex pistols, as they were when they became famous, were over. Go check out footage of the live shows from their real years of fame. They’re all about words and even their words don’t make any real sense.
