it’s weird, i’m actually more excited for this new band, the strange design, that is recreating historical phish shows (a la dark star orchestra) and just announced a fall tour. they’ve been playing the shit out of 1991!

something about recapturing the vibe + energy of early 90′s phish in a tiny bar with bad acoustics and even worse beer sounds so much better than spun out kiddies and trance-y froth. would they ever consider doing something to get back to basics? a club tour? thrash metal min-sets? big ball jams?

for halloween i’m thinking primal scream’s xtrmntr (kicking off with “kill all hippies”)…

  7. Hampton Comes Alive box set is from their two night run in 1998.

I knew the breakup wouldn’t take.
My days of trucking hundreds of miles for them are over. If I was 19 I would go to a midMarch Hampton show at the drop of a hat. But since I’m super old now, I’ll have to wait for a northeastern show. I’ll go to that
