According to the New York Times, the festival has reserved, but not confirmed, its dates at Liberty State Park, and no performers and no headliners have been booked by the promoters. Or to put it in industry parlance: uh oh.

I miss when posts had pictures and more than just a blurb. In other news, bummed this isn’t happening, even though it wasn’t the best festival in the world, it had a great view and pretty good sound.
These mini-posts (which Amrit and I call shorties, and Gabe calls quicklinks) are not new to the relaunch, and will not be appearing any more or less frequently. The reason for them is two-fold:
1. We don’t have enough writers (esp on Videogum, which is just one writer) to cover every news story we want to in depth, and obviously some “stories” don’t even deserve in-depth coverage
2. We want to avoid rewriting (AKA stealing) another publication’s original reporting. We may blockquote judiciously from time to time, adding ‘Gum POV, but in general it’s most useful and only fair for you to read at the source
Is this where we complain about new stereogum? It would be awesome if my password could be changed to anything other than aMjIoPlJhYtReFDgfHhUiK or whatever it was reset to.
Also, APW had so much potential, at least in it’s first year. Just skip a year, move it to a location that doesn’t incur such high costs (mentioned in the NYT article). I certainly wouldn’t complain if it was moved a little upstate… plus there would be less space constraints, which means camping could be an option.
It’s so annoying that the northeast can’t sustain a single music festival. With the costs of domestic flights being outrageous, you would think a festival close to this huge amount of people would be a success no matter how shitty it was thrown together.
No camping=mediocre festival.
well i was kind of looking forward to this since i cant afford to fly to bonnaroo, and all other festivals are too far for me to travel. but i was really hoping to scratch that itch this year, since ive never been to any before. any other good east coast festivals this year?
It’s APW why does this surprise you?
I’ve only been to one festival so far being APW and I know I will NEVER go to another APW festival EVER again.
Festivals on the whole are great for entertainment, but accomplish so little in terms of … well, just about anything. Has coachella or burning man yet managed to solve any of humankind’s actual, definite problems? They certainly could if they tried. Will festivals like bonnaroo learn that skipping years is actually a good idea?
i guess Siren MF is always an option
Wasnt any good last year anyways.
