Mumford & Sons Cover Vampire Weekend

This one comes with the EZRA KOENIG LIKES THIS stamp of approval, a good thing to have these days regardless of its reference point but particularly if you’re slinging around a Vampire Weekend cover. The BBC Live Lounge coaxed this from UK banjo-and-dobro-toting folk stompers Mumford & Sons, who do pretty much just what you’d expect to this one’s breakneck and clean cut yippie punkisms. Plus, mark this the second time the Sons have rode other names into the music blog discourse. Savvy that.

  1. X1FM loves to showcase bands who have come out of nowhere and manage to crush the charts. Manchester Orchestra has done just that this year. And, that is why they are “This Week’s Greatest Band Ever.” You can request both of their singles “I’ve Got Friends” and “Shake It Out” at X1FM.COM.
