Summer Camp is the formerly mysterious London duo of Jeremy Warmsley and Elizabeth Sankey. They made waves on the blogosphere last fall via kudos from Transparent and Gorilla Vs Bear, but only recently were their identities revealed by The Stool Pigeon. Summer Camp’s viral update of Dames standard “I Only Have Eyes for You” began with a Heathers sound byte — and they’ve cited John Cusack as an influence — but this video for the gauzy, infectious “Ghost Train” digs deeper into movies. It repurposes scenes from the formerly X-rated 1969 film Last Summer. Yes that’s a young Barbara Hershey from your favorite movie Beacheson a beach (Fire Island). Clever girl, Summer Camp.

And now a moment of silence for the OG Summercamp, whose excellent “Drawer” was a college radio hit in the summer of ’97. There was a video too, but it’s not on YouTube, so I’ve put it below. R.I.P.

  1. OG Summercamp’s video reminds me of an awesome ’90s video cliche I miss: earnest dudes with hair in their face being earnest.
