Directed by Radical Friend, the same duo behind their excellent (and top-rated NSFW) video for “Ambling Alp,” Yeasayer’s “O.N.E.” clip has some seriously cool eye candy. Hard to know what to highlight here: the neo/neon tribal dancers, the face-shifting protagonist, or maybe Anand Wilder’s phallic crystal microphone. They might be trying too hard giving AnCo a run for their money in the psychedelic dept. As far as O.N.E. goes, it appears to be a favorite for song of the year (so far).
Radical Friend is saving their career. Both the “Ambling Alp” and “ONE” videos have been on point, but Odd Blood as an album just doesn’t impress me. I will say this, they fucking kill it live for sure
Well, I wouldn’t say it’s any more phallic than any other microphone, but I love the song and video. It’s as it were a song from my 80′s childhood.
