Gnarls are awesome and everything, but what if they were a bit more White?
No, I’m not talkin’ ’bout Legion Of Doom.
The Raconteurs — that’s Saboteurs to you Aussies — recently covered Gnarls Barkley’s Song Of Oh Six at the Warfield in San Francisco. Why? Because we “caught [them] in a very good mood.”
The Raconteurs – “Crazy (Live 7-23-06)” (MP3 Link Expired)
This gives me a great Cee-Lo and DM costume idea. (You know, the one you had three Halloweens ago.)
Ray LaMontagne, Nelly Furtado, Kooks, Twilight Singers, Raconteurs … who will go “Crazy” next? Or should everyone stop the insanity?
UPDATE: Add Butch Walker, Of Montreal, and Mates Of State to that list of coverers. Any more?

“He chatted me up about math languages — be still my heart. Then we sang ‘Crazy’ by Gnarls Barkley,” said Rier as Carter started singing the tune and dancing on their love seat. Their second date? They played Mario Kart. “She won,” said Carte

Butch Walker’s going nutzoid to this, too, on tour.
i cover crazy when i play guitar at home. it’s mad good
Someone needs to cover “Hey Ya” just to go retro.
Dulli and the Twilight Singers cover both Hey Ya and Crazy most nights!
Mates of State did a cover.

Yeah, this is stupid. Go back to covering 80s new wave songs, or something.
my two cents, I’m not too thrilled with the Ranconteurs. I’m bored of them already. Jack White is a great front man…but this side project thingy is … meh. …

Comment of the day. Hands down.
the academy is…
they are playing crazy on the warped tour.
no joke
i saw butch walker do this when he played toronto on monday night…it was lots of fun!
I’ve seen Kenye West kinda coverin’ Crazy… but it was a crazy mix of A-Ha, Beatles and then Gnarls Barkly so may be it doesn’t matter.
Just quit covering the damn song. It’s not cute anymore.
Cat Power sort of covered it last week at Hiro Ballroom…she just couldn’t remember all the words.
quit hatin’, people! i caught this show live and have been searching for this exact download since then (thanks scott!). jack & co. put on an awesome show and the crowd was really into it.
Alright so the Raconteurs have all this crazy stuff going on with mtvU: Interviews, live performances, music videos. This week they were named mtvU’s house band so reap the benefits and check out everything:

i heard paris hilton was supposed to cover it and that was the reason her album got pushed back… it sucks when good songs get overplayed and overcovered, but everything paris hilton touches turns to shit.
p.s. tilly and the wall covered hey ya also, but thats a great example of a song that i never want to hear of again.
Not to be a hater because I was at the other Warfield show on the 22nd, but Jack singing Nancy Sinatra’s Bang Bang was so so so much better than this. Now that’s a mp3 to track down. I have a you tube of them performing it in sweeden on my site if you want to check it out.
Technically, wouldn’t he have been covering Cher’s “Bang Bang”?
No, he would have been covering Sunny Bono’s “Bang Bang”, altho Nancy was the first person to record it.
Of Montreal’s cover is the best. You should ask the readers if anyone has the mp3 hook up.
Anyone have a working link to download this track?
Thanks in advance!
