Next week Of Montreal releases a double LP of reworked tunes from their last two studio albums, Satanic Panic In The Attic and The Sunlandic Twins (for the turntableless, it’ll be available as a digital download too). Stereogum premiered the Pocket remix of “How Lester Lost His Wife” earlier this summer, and now we’ve got the whole album stream! Listen to Satanic Twins here.
LP1: Satanic Panic In The Attic Remixes:
1. Disconnect the Dots (Mixel Pixel remix)
2. How Lester Lost His Wife (Pocket remix)
3. My British Tour Diary (Restiform Bodies remix)
4. Climb the Ladder (Rory Phillips Trash UK remix)
5. Chrissy Kiss the Corpse (Nils Lannon remix)
6. Rapture Rapes the Muses (DJ Dave P. and Adam Sparkles Making Time remix)LP2: The Sunlandic Twins Remixes:
1. Forecast Fascist Future (IQU remix)
2. The Party’s Crashing Us (I Am the World Trade Center remix)
3. Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games (Broken Spindles remix)
4. I Was a Landscape in Your Dream (Grizzly Bear remix)
5. Requiem for O.M.M.2 (United State of Electronica remix)
6. I Was Never Young (Supersystem remix)
All these remixers did such a great job; but then again, the source material was top notch.
Polyvinyl’s hooked us up with an autographed copy of the double vinyl to give to a lucky Stereogum reader. This pressing is an extremely limited edition of 2000 copies, available at remaining Of Montreal tour dates while supplies last. So if you want a chance to win it, just leave a comment that says why you like the band Of Montreal, the city of Montreal, or the film Jesus Of Montreal. Use your real e-mail address so we’ll be able to contact you if you win (don’t worry; you’re not signing up for anything.) Contest ends Monday 9/14 at 12 PM EST. We’ll pick a winner randomly, so you don’t have to be clever with your comment.
OM tourdates and more streaming goodness here. OM MP3s (demos, live cuts, and a VU cover) here.
Head over to You Ain’t No Picasso for another chance to win the signed vinyl.

I have never seen the movie.. Or been to the city for that matter. (I have a fondness for Montreal though, because people from that city can open a bottle with anything. Even say, an eyeglass screwdriver.)
I do, however, love me some Of Montreal. I won’t lie: Cherry Peel is my favorite Of Montreal release. If there was a soundtrack to my mind, it would be that album. Every track, every lyric, every note on Cherry Peel is utterly genius. Of Montreal led me to other fantastic (twee pop) bands. EX: Without Of Montreal in my life, I would never have discovered Tullycraft. (And without Tullycraft, I would never have gotten a “I killed for Tullycraft” button. Which would have been a gd shame.) Of Montreal is what the kids call “a life enhancer.”
I like Of Montreal partly because their music reminds me that pop/rock didn’t totally turn to complete crap after 1998, partly because they parlay the whole indie-rock trip into an actual artistic expression, but mostly because of Barnes’ hat.
remember that time when I was in a bathroom alone with Kevin and I wanted to say something like, hi, but it was a bathroom, so I smiled and left. oh, wait, you weren’t there.
I love Of Montreal because listening to them makes me feel like a child.. and that’s OK!
I don’t care about the contest. I just like hearing so many people profess their love of of monteal.
I love them because they will always make me think of all the summers I’ve spent sitting on porches drinking coke and talking till 3:00 in the morning.
Also, I went to a show a few years ago and bought Satanic Panic from the band afterwards. They were keeping the cds in a black garbage bag and I for some reason I couldn’t bring myself to say “I love you” when I had the chance. I will always regret that.
he makes pretty pichures which make me laugh ha ha such crazy music mum thinks he may be mad
I’m moving to Montreal in less than a week and will probably see Of Montreal perform in Montreal again, soon.
I like Of Montreal because they remind me of a girl I knew once. She had a rabbit that looked like a meatloaf. She ate avocados like apples, and always had 3 a day. Once she performed reiki on a candy bar. I miss her.
I love Montreal because I feel bad the Expos left. Ref Moon Tal. Foot Ran Elm. Fan Lem Root. Toon Mar Elf. Of Montreal. Fro Mont et al…
I like Of Montreal because girls from Montreal are hot enough to inspire a band name.
Of Montreal is totally cool because they alliterate. And as most English majors would, like, tell you? Alliteration is like totally cool. Erroneous escapes? Disconnecting dots? Rapture raping? Awesome.
I like men who wear wedding dresses to perform on stage.
I like Of Montreal because pretending you don’t exist/are in a very cold, very southerly continent is pretty great.
I had never heard Of Montreal before Lollapalooza, but I had a little less than no interest in seeing Matisyahu, and they blew me away. If I win, then I don’t have to steal their music from them!
i love of montreal because i was never young.
i can relate and dance in my underpants all at once.
When I saw Of Montreal perform live for a second time, they wore raincoats.
I love Of Montreal even if they let Outback use one of their songs. Even commercialization can’t ruin that bass line.
I love Of Montreal primarily for the song “The Party’s Crashing Us,” because I just can’t get past the idea of making love like a pair of black wizards. Fantastic.
i adore Of Montreal because they are made of glittery goodness.
Of Montreal is god because they are made of pure awesomeness. Duh.
i dig “jesus of montreal” because roger ebert kinda said so!
I love Of Montreal because my future self traveled back through time and told me to fight the coming cybertronic apocalypse through the power of sound! Power to the audio-revolutionaries!
There is a lack of “Hay-zoo de Morr-ee-al” loving here. I like, nay, love “Jesus of Montreal” because of the interesting, subtle Christ imagery used in the actions of the main character. I think Jesus would have loved Of Montreal.
I love Montreal because it’s one of the few places on Earth where you can see penguins frolic in an old Olympic stadium.
I like the band Of Montreal because the men can all wear vintage women’s blouses better than I can — and I’m a woman!
I like Of Montreal because they are made “of montreal”. And nothing is cooler than Montreal, so they get 2x cool.
I love Of Montreal beacuse of their pop sensibilities, and said costumes.
i love of montreal because i like going on erotic adventures with kevin barnes.
I like the city Montreal because when I was at Trudeau airport, I had the most delicious chicken fajita in the world.
I like Of Montreal because they made my colors brighter and my whites whiter!
I like Of Montreal because they shared some Junior Mints with me!
I want all of those albums really bad.
I love Of Montreal for their sweet album art!
of montreal makes me smile
I’d like Of Montreal to rule the world. They have the strangest and funniest lyrics, the most flamboyant outfits, and their music always makes me want to dance.
I like Of Montreal because I am one half of a Sunlandic Twin duo.
I love Of Montreal because they’re the only thing in the morning that I can rely on being good.
Of Montreal makes me feel like I’m trapped in a bubble gum machine. That is a good thing.
Of Montreal’s music has more penguinizedbutterflyingcolorfriendliness than any other….guaranteed.
because i can never get tired of listening to them…
mmmm.
i need this album to add to my limited of montreal vinyl collection, which currently consists of one lone copy of the sunlandic twins. and, as cute as i am drunkenly dancing around to it, i have a feeling that if i insist upon playing that album AGAIN the next time we have a party, my friends might consider killing me.
i love of montreal because no other band is that catchy
I love Of Montreal because Kevin has, simultaneously, a more expansive warddrobe than every guy and girl I know.
i love of montreal because it reminds me of summer and who doesn’t like summer?
I like the city of Montreal because I bought this awesome shirt there that tells you how to say all of these different moods and emotions in FRENCH. How handy!
Jesus of Montreal is a bomb-tight movie. My brotha Lothair Bluteau (Daniel in the movie) is a straight G.
I liked Jésus de Montréal because A group of actors putting on an interpretive Passion Play in Montreal begin to experience a meshing of their characters and their private lives as the production takes form against the growing opposition of the Catholic church.
I love Of Montreal because they are some G’s, if i do say so myself, and they hail from Athens, Georgia, where I was born (& spent some years in the hoodz)
I like Of Montreal because we don’t have enough covers of “Crazy” already.
I love of montreal, because they are a band where you can actually replay the same song more than three times without wanting to die…in fact, you want to listen to it more than 3 times most of the time
I love Of Montreal. Here’s why.
At Bumbershoot this year, they came out, totally messed up on crsytal meth. They introduced the drummer three times. Then, they ripped their pants.
For the encore, they played Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy.
That is why I love Of Montreal.
I saw the best party bands on Flash Entertainment Services website. They perform locally and well as national. http://www.flashentertainmentservices.com
