Sometimes the bands make it easy on us, as is the case with quickly rising NYC new wave trio BRAHMS who, within the one week since we suggested you watch, have played shows opening for Spanish life champions Delorean and the still-ascendant Sleigh Bells and now file a remix for the BK transplant whose face you might have seen a lot of around here and in Austin lately. The track’s a double teaser, both for BRAHMS warmed new wave but also for Neon Indian’s upcoming tour which will put them at all sorts of venues — some headlining, a couple festivals (Sasquatch, Bonnaroo), all kicking off with a date opening for Massive Attack at NYC’s midtown echo chamber Terminal 5. To paraphrase Mel Brooks (and my mom), it’s good to be an Indian. Here’s that remix and the list of dates:
05/12 – New York, NY @ Terminal 5 *
05/13 – Boston, MA @ House of Blues *
05/29 – Calgary, AB @ Hi Fi Club
05/31 – George, WA (Sasquatch)
06/02 – San Diego, CA @ Casbah
06/03 – Costa Mesa, CA @ Detroit Bar
06/04 – Los Angeles, CA @ Natural History Museum / First Fridays #
06/05 – Corvalis, OR (Flat Tall Music Festival)
06/07 – Austin, TX @ Emo’s
06/09 – Atlanta, GA @ The Earl
06/10 – Manchester, TN (Bonnaroo)
06/11 – Cincinnati, OH @ Fountain Square
06/12 – Pittsburgh, PA @ Brillobox
