The other day Conan covered “Creep.” Last night at the Fox Theatre in Oakland, Thom Yorke and his Atoms For Peace did up Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart,” something they didn’t do up at Roseland last week. (It’s a more straightforwardly satisfying take than the one Broken Social Scene gave us last summer.) Reader Kayvon, who captured it on video, tells us it was the second encore after the house lights had been turned on.
Here’s another clip shot from closer range — the sound’s not as clear, but you can see the guys rocking out.
Maybe they’ll do it again at Coachella.

Stuff like this is the reason I read music blogs.
Also, you can follow Rosa as she goes to meet her social network in person.
I could have sworn that Joy Division wrote more songs than that.
i hate all people who have seen any of these shows.
He already has one band. Why would he need a second? I can see a great shriveling of creative energies coming from Thom in the future….
