man, I wish David Bowie would write a song about me :(

  2. There is a very, very good chance that David Bowie is the coolest person on the planet. Seriously, think about it.

  3. sara  |   Posted on Sep 25th, 2006 0

just watching that made monday morning bearable.

    >There is a very, very good chance that David Bowie is the coolest person on the planet.

I thought so too, until I saw The Man Who Fell to Earth. Just ///dreadful///.

  7. Jay  |   Posted on Sep 25th, 2006 0

That made my Monday morning 100x better. Thank you.

  8. David Bowie is on my shortlist of idols.

  9. Sean  |   Posted on Sep 25th, 2006 0

The Man Who Fell To Earth is classic.

  10. Stephen  |   Posted on Sep 25th, 2006 0

I read he’s playing Tesla in the new Bale/Jackman magician movie “The Prestige”…cause of that, they could have Rob Schneider and Eddie Griffin in the Bale/Jackman roles and I’d probably still see it.

bowie is a god you guys!!!!! so fuckin funny!

  12. jek  |   Posted on Sep 25th, 2006 0

Yet another reason Bowie is, as someone already said, one of the coolest people ever. Worthy of the OLest of Ls.

  15. The Goblin King  |   Posted on Sep 25th, 2006 0

Oh Sarah, go to your room and play with your toys and costumes.

    Forget about the baby…..

  16. Dave Depper  |   Posted on Sep 25th, 2006 0

    This is so awesome.

However, it makes me a little sad. After years of suspecting that he was some kind of ageless superhuman being, Bowie is actually… looking… old.

  17. Bowie’s still got it. Best part of the clip: 2:53.

    Check it OUT!!!!

    Bowieluv!

  19. balumpus  |   Posted on Sep 25th, 2006 0

can’t wait for season 2 over here. great show. awesome clip.

  20. Frank  |   Posted on Sep 25th, 2006 0

“Extras” is off to an awesome start in Series 2. As good as Bowie was in this episode, Orlando Bloom was equally funny (but way more self-abusive) in the first one.

  21. Thank you so much! Funniest video ever!

  22. kether2malkuth  |   Posted on Sep 26th, 2006 0

Hysterical. And thank god Bowie is old, the alternative would be a far drabber world.

  23. coolrara  |   Posted on Sep 26th, 2006 0

And that is exactly why I always claimed David Bowie to be my God…. :)

  24. Mike  |   Posted on Sep 26th, 2006 0

Bowie has ruled the last 4 decades and still seems ageless! Too be so cool is my lofty ambition!

  25. Riss  |   Posted on Sep 26th, 2006 0

The vile bitter old man with a stuck-up nose, Impostor! Everyone now, “The vile bitter old man with a stuck-up nose,Impostor!”

  27. Carol  |   Posted on Sep 26th, 2006 0

Cool? Ageless? Are we blind as well as stupid? He’s a pompous jerk! It’s not “Cool” putting someone down. Only fags do that, that shriveled old fart who fell to earth. Him and Heff would make a great set of bookends.

  28. D'oh!  |   Posted on Sep 27th, 2006 0

Yeah, but it’s really cool to call someone a fag.

    *yawn*

Get a sense of humour – Ricky Gervais has one. And anyway, that was Bowie playing Bowie as a character – a parody of a pompous rock star.

  29. Jacqueline  |   Posted on Sep 27th, 2006 0

C’mon guys, it’s just comedy, i think Boxwie was great!

  30. Nichole  |   Posted on Sep 27th, 2006 0

I love Bowie! I have always loved Bowie, since I was a little girl watching his Glass Spider concert and Labyrinth every single weekend. And now to see him in a comedy… that clinches it.

    I think I’m in love.

  31. Hannah  |   Posted on Sep 27th, 2006 0

Have his baby you slut! That funny? You pathetic looser! Are you laughing? I didn’t think so and nothing cool or funny in the clip either, but a great example of man’s inhumanity towards man under the guise of a comedic farce. Bowie, what a turd. Hitler had the same sense of humor.

  32. Missi  |   Posted on Sep 28th, 2006 0

Wow Hannah…I think someone needs a *hug*
you sound like a bitter ‘ol cow. Hope your life
    gets better soon…

  33. Grace  |   Posted on Sep 28th, 2006 0

Hannah doesn’t need a hug, she’s right. Why is it funny for Bowie to put someone down and not when someone else does it? The truth is, a great person of character doesn’t have to resort to that. Bowie show’s that he is niether great nor a person of character. Bowie, a parody of a slime bucket. Right-on Hannah! You RULE!

  34. Jilleen  |   Posted on Sep 29th, 2006 0

Jeez, I love it when people don’t get comedy. Silly kids.

  35. Ben  |   Posted on Sep 29th, 2006 0

That sucked! I use to like Bowie. What a buffoon…

  36. D'oh!  |   Posted on Sep 29th, 2006 0

Do people not understand that when people guest on Extras they are playing parodies of either themselves or pompous celebrities in general? Does anyone think Daniel Radcliffe (Mr. Harry Potter) goes around making rude hand gestures all the time?

  37. Corey  |   Posted on Sep 29th, 2006 0

If you guys don’t understand that it was comedy and that he put himself in the position to be made fun of for comedy, then you’re idiots!
Why even watch half of the videos on here if you can’t understand that?

    Ridiculous!!!

Bowie is awesome and he hasn’t lost it yet.

  38. GQ PHOTOS  |   Posted on Sep 29th, 2006 0

Nice, saw David play keyboards with Iggy Pop! Brings it back when i saw this video, got a nice pic. of it!

  39. Robert Mezzio  |   Posted on Sep 30th, 2006 0

I laughed until I cried! I am also a professional musician and I was impressed with his ability to play “live” in that context. He’s one of those guys who gets “cooler” with age. He reinvents himself all the time while still keeping his musical integrity. He never tries to be something that he can’t be. And THAT is refreshing!

  40. LISSUR  |   Posted on Oct 2nd, 2006 0

BOWIE,IS A BABE WHO NEW GETTING OLDER COULD LOOK

    lol.

  45. eastbell  |   Posted on Oct 11th, 2006 0

I didn’t think the cynicism was really towards the degraded values that rule our lives. Rather it verified and strenghened them while pretending to put them to farce.

It didn’t make me laugh, it made me sad.

  46. Bonjo  |   Posted on Nov 20th, 2006 0

What a refreshing and fascinating way to see one of the all-time (if not THE) one true original rock/progressive musical entity in the world. He enhances is style simply by sitting behind a keyboard but says so much by the humor, song and even how they (and I will say they) incorporate all the actors .. from the looks, to the perfectly timed comments at this ‘cocktail party’! Who else could take this extra skit and make it look so awesome, real and hilarious. I suppose those who are irate never watch Saturday Night Live or Madd TV, etc??? Go save the world…..oh, by the way .. I have sympathy, compassion and love and respect for humanity – countless times I have cried over a lousy commercial, and yes, I do put my money where my mouth is and contribute to many worthy causes and also give time within my community. But this IS comedy people ……… lighten up and enjoy this timeless piece!!!
