Unrest Reunite

You should own a copy of Unrest’s 1992 minimalist-pop masterpiece Imperial f.f.r.r. It’s one of those albums that felt timeless the first time you listened, has somehow maintained its mystery all these years later, never losing its strange charm. (Don’t trust me? Maybe trust Amazon.) The classic Unrest lineup of Mark Robinson, Phil Krauth, and Bridget Cross will likely pull heavily from it (and Perfect Teeth) on their upcoming tour happening on the occasion of the 26th Anniversary of TeenBeat, the D.C.-born label run by Robinson, the band’s frontman/’90s indie pinup. Various other folks from that period — including the Ropers and Versus, though sadly not Eggs — will flesh-out the shows. Slumberland’s having its revivalist moment(s) … it’s time other area contemporaries soak-up a bit of that post-’90s sun. (Simple Machines next?) Take a look to see if they’re coming to your city.
