The pre-Ferguson video for Local Natives’ “Airplanes” featured chilly skeletons and crumbling interiors. This Matthew Lessner-directed “World News” clip takes us to the sunny, sandy outdoors, a place with wild flowers, floral bathing suits, citrus salads, finger sandwiches, and beach-Frisbee. Even if the oxygen masks, etc., are meant to be cheeky, it’s a better fit for the Los Angeles group’s Afropop/Yeasayer-influenced sound.
