Damien Jurado PR 2010

The first thing I thought of when I heard “Cloudy Shoes” was Band Of Horses’s “Factory.” “Cloudy Shoes” feels more spiritual though. Maybe it’s the echoing hand claps, or maybe the way he repeats each line back to himself. Richard Swift produced Saint Bartlett, giving this song, and especially the previously-posted “Arkansas,” a larger, already-lived-in feel.

Saint Bartlett is out 5/25 via Secretly Canadian.

  1. ‘already-lived-in.’ love it.

  2. I’ve been listening to this song A LOT.

  3. If you like this, you will like the John Cale song he blatantly lifted the melody, instrumentation, and the word ‘cloud’ from.
