Head over to AOL’s The Interface for two live cuts from Post-War, “Paul’s Song” from Transistor Radio, and to listen to M. Ward’s smokey, mellow drawl in conversation. Funny how Conor Oberst’s presidential proclamation while doing Kilborn in ’04 was what it took to get Ward some niche-transcending buzz but, hey, it does make for good headline. Newsweek picked up on Transistor Radio after that show, and their readership was the better for it. This year saw Ward release his fifth, and it’s his best yet. You’re gonna see Post-War on a lot of Best Of ’06 lists. It’s a great collection of dusty, bittersweet tunes. Take these as proof positive:

“Head over to AOL’s The Interface for two live cuts from Post-War, “Paul’s Song” from Transistor Radio…”

of the six sentences within the post, this was one of them. it contains news of relevance.

  4. Post War is second best. Transfiguration of Vincent is so the best.

  5. Top 5 for me this year, so far.
