The new revenue stream for indie rock is vampires. Beck did True Blood, and for the second straight installment Twilight’s sucking blood from bands you probably maybe listen to. The Twilight: Eclipse OST‘s leaked its Muse track, but the most fittingly monikered roster inclusion — Rostam BATmanglij and his band Vampire Weekend, who earlier today filmed their “Holiday” — are next out of the gate with the 12-string guitar jam “Jonathan Low.”

This is a surprisingly great song. Not that Vampire Weekend make bad songs, but this may actually be one of their best.
I’m still not dragging my body to that movie, though.

Enjoyed the song. I would only watch this movie if I was high though…sure it’d be entertaining to watch.
I wonder if that first Rostam song’s drum part is a sample from Paul Simon’s, “Obvious Child.” It definitely sounds like it.
Why are all these fantastic artists wasting their time doing songs for this awful, soul-sucking franchise? Anybody wanna clue me in?

An awful lot of my favourite bands and my taste was discovered in my youth from teen films. (Better films admittedly, but still.)
