On Monday we heard “The Fear,” from Lily Allen’s forthcoming It’s Not Me, It’s You. As mentioned, it was an updated, retouched version of an April demo, a song that pokes fun at losing touch with reality, rich people. For the video Lily’s gone back to being a brunette and from her powder blue and pink trailer (teddy bears on the line) to a mansion complete with Madonna’s servants, a room full of cupcake sweets, and dancing presents and balloons (aka ballet dudes in tights). Kind of like Cribs at Rip Taylor’s place.
It’s Not Me, It’s You is out in the UK on 2/9 via Parlophone.

The song is kind of fun, and she looks really cute in the video. I still don’t like that first single which doubled as a PSA though.

like the song, hate the production.
This video confuses me alot. It seems like Lily lost alot of her charm and her wit has faded away. She looks like a barbie doll, if you hadn’t told me it was lily allen i’m not sure i would know. As for the song, it’s nice and funny and minimally edgy, but i wished she made it more intersting and showed off her voice more. it gets a little old and this video doesn’t do much for the song.

I’m not accusing her of anything…I just think she looks exactly like Bjork to me in this vid. The song obviously doesn’t sound like Bjork at all.

i agree, she’s styled strikingly similar to Bjork in the “It’s Oh So Quiet” video. This one even directly and shamelessly rips some shots straight from it as well.

She’s a pretty great artist. Looking forward to the LP. It’s all good and fun. Quite the 80s vibe in a way that doesn’t annoy me ala a lot of the people who use that sound.

Lilly sounds kind of depressed, and considering her year it makes sense.
I have remained a loyal fan regardless of her wacky year, loving the song quite frankly. very excited to hear more. and hopefully a US tour

Mmm, she get’s on my nerves a lot sometimes, but she’s still talented and I still like her music. I don’t normally like music videos that much, most of them are just so stupid, but I like this one and it suits her and the song very well, which I don’t feel happens very often with music videos.
