Over the last few years the Woodsist label’s put together an impressive roster : Real Estate, Kurt Vile, Ganglians, and, of course, ‘Gum Bowl headliner Woods, whose Jeremy Earl founded the label. Worth celebrating, for sure. Last year they joined with Captured Tracks for a weekend festival in Bushwick, this year did shows in Big Sur and at L.A.’s Echoplex, taking over the latter venue’s two stages. Photographer Andrew Youssef was there to document. The lineup: Real Estate, Woods, Kurt Vile, Abe Vigoda, The Art Museums, The Mantles, Nodzzz, Sun Araw, and All Saints Day. Youssef said the shows didn’t really get crowded until headliners Real Estate and Woods played, but also said that Sun Araw and Abe Vigoda (who were playing new material) were early highlights.
