Last year the First Family invited Foo Fighters to do their annual 4th of July lawn party, where my guess is things are just a little more patriotic than on Bedford Ave. (overheard on Bedford Ave. on Sunday: “Wait, is today the 4th, or the 5th?,” true story). Grohl’s crew came prepared, unveiling “Wheels,” their thickest slice of Tom Petty Americana pie yet. But for a guy who’s written about “blue jean serenade”s and sleeps with a Bruce Springsteen LP under his pillow, Brandon Flowers was likely particularly tickled by their invite to this year’s White House jammer. Nothing new here, though the Killers did one of their very finest jams “Read My Mind,” after before getting super stars-and-bars-y with “God Bless America.” Both here:
Don’t forget: Brandon’s gone solo.

This is indeed one of the greatest one from him. Just love listening to it when it is from Brandon. Just checked the video and just brought those nostalgic memories into the mind.
