Slayer Set To Show No Mercy On Kimmel

By Stereogum / January 16, 2007

It’s taken 25 years, but the shy guys of Slayer are finally ready to take on television. They’ll do Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show, perfect for maximum nightmare potential. Via Blabbermouth:

According to a press release from mPRm Public Relations, tickets for SLAYER’s January 19 appearance on ABC-TV’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” sold out in about four hours, matching the performance of such superstar acts as JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, KORN and LINKIN PARK.

SLAYER will make its first-ever network television appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The band will play two songs on air, “Jihad” and “Mandatory Suicide”, as well as three additional off-air tracks for a crowd of over 1,000 people.

The show will most definitely not air in India. Do any Stereogum readers still listen to Slayer? (Like you didn’t have Seasons In The Abyss; everyone goes through a satanic death metal phase!) And you’re in luck, hipster metal fans — Mastodon is opening for Slayer on tour. Good family fun! Bring the kids.
