Inception had its Hollywood premiere last night at Mann’s Chinese Theatre, and composer Hans Zimmer and Johnny Marr were on hand to perform its score. The whole premiere was streamed by Ustream, including their performance with a 20-piece orchestra. You’ll have to skip ahead a bit (pass the Inception trailer, though, if you haven’t see it you should), but they get started around minute 53. In their red carpet interview, Zimmer says he was working on the soundtrack late at night and simply thought one guitar part would be great for Marr and called him up. After seeing Marr join both Modest Mouse and the Cribs, it seems like this is how Marr picks projects now.
