Beach Boys drummer Dennis Wilson was an interesting guy: Vocalist and songwriter (later on) for the Beach Boys, an actor, an alcoholic, the only actual surfer in the band. He also let Charles Manson and the Manson Family live at his California home — before Manson started showing his violent side. Wilson died in 1983 after releasing one solo album, Pacific Ocean Blue. According to Spinner, director Randall Miller and writer Jody Savin are prepping a biopic on him, with the help of Wilson’s daughter Jennifer. IMDB says the film will be called The Drummer but there’s no cast announcement yet. So who should play Wilson? Huey Lewis? Devendra Banhart? Kris Kristofferson thirty years ago?

I agree that Luke Wilson would be a good choice. Or maybe J. Tillman if he can act? He kinda looks like Wilson and the singing would obviously not be an issue
I always thought Andrew Wilson (Lukes older brother) looked a lot like him.
