Rolling Stone’s 10 Greatest Beatles Songs Of All Time

Rolling Stone has a Special Collection’s edition on newsstands right now, and its focus is a list of the Beatles’s Greatest 100 songs. We’ve got their top ten below. You have to get the issue to see the rest (and to compare it to Entertainment Weekly’s list). My personal ranking would probably trade out some McCartney songs for “Tomorrow Never Knows” and “Taxman.” I’m guessing George Harrison is very well represented, considering the small percentage of Beatles songs he wrote.

01 “A Day in the Life”
02 “I Want to Hold Your Hand”
03 “Strawberry Fields Forever”
04 “Yesterday”
05 “In My Life”
06 “Something”
07 “Hey Jude”
08 “Let It Be”
09 “Come Together”
10 “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”

The issue promises “… Paul and John talking about their favorite tracks, the Fab Four’s best cover songs, and George Harrison’s finest guitar work.” Of course, “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” actually features Eric Clapton’s guitar work.
