Whit points us to the first single from Cornell’s solo effort Carry On. Why solo? ‘Cause Chris loves his royalties! If you’re Windows Media-ready, stream the full song at chriscornell.com. We don’t have the WMA, so best we could get is the thirty seconds of screaming streaming sounds at MySpace. The half-minute assessment: More Soundgarden than “Can’t Change Me,” vox sounding a little fried, about as good as his MJ.

Live Review: Chris Cornell — Orpheum Theatre, Los Angeles
For William Shakespeare, the apex of art was the convergence of comedy and tragedy. The same maxim holds true for Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell. During the Los Angeles stop of his "Songbook" Tour at the Orpheum Theatre, Cornell dispensed ...

  1. Anybody remember that song “Seasons” he did off the Singles soundtrack. Say what you will about the man, but that’s a great song.

  2. Westerberg cleaned his clock on Singles! That said Westerberg is the king of post-Grunge solo ropiness.

I was an intermittent Soundgarden fan, but I’ve found “Europhia Morning” to be surprisingly enjoyable — even so many years later.

I haven’t heard the song, but the descriptions sounds like a step backwards.

  5. Oh I agree! Westerberg definitely cleaned his clock on Singles, but “Seasons” is still great.

i’ve liked everything chris cornell has ever done….except this song. and seasons is his best song. ever hear sunshower from the great expectations soundtrack? i thought that one was pretty sweet. i’d also like to point out that steve lillywhite is incapable of recording rock drums, because they sound fuckin brittle and shitty. someone call matt cameron.

  9. It can’t be any worse than that Bond theme.

  12. Let’s face it, there is a lot of #@%#% out in today’s mainstream music. Chris Cornell plays an incredible show live. I loved Soundgarden, thought the Seasons Soundtrack was good, but the reality of the situation is that great bands seldomly last more than 3 albums, so when they break up, enjoy what you can while you can and try not to focus on if they are any better or worse. Going to the LA Invasion Show tomorrow and that is a perfect example of my point. I’m 37 years old and still diggin my college fav’s! This has been the BEST concert season for So Cal in YEARS!!! Scott Wyland, Perry Farrell, Slash, etc…Saw Chris Cornell last month in OC and it was an incredible journey – loved it, he took us back to the good’ol days, played a new song, walked down memory lane, it was great!

  13. chris sornell is THE BEST songwriter Ever!!amazing in concert
although I am angry with him for not booking my little girl for his video.
She is a highroller/I did at a favor and fan.But whatever he is perfectly contradictory. And TMZ needs to back …….leave the boy to his privacy
i just hope he hangs in there and stays safe……………………Long beach
