Yesterday we gave you Minnesotan Best New Band Gayng’s cover of George Michael’s “On More Try,” a move I predicted a few months ago. But I would’ve never guessed they’d get Prince to show up for this glitzy live performance of Relayted slow jam “Last Prom On Earth.” He doesn’t actually play with the band, but he seems to be enjoying himself. The clip was recorded at the band’s hometown release party where the Purple One reportedly wanted to play with them (which is why he’s holding a guitar), decided they didn’t need him. When you have Bon Iver hamming it up in all white and Blues Brother sunglasses, I guess you can go it alone.
