The Social Network Five Track Sampler

We mentioned Trent Reznor’s score to the much-anticipated The Social Network, and you’ve seen the Kanye West and Radiohead soundtracked trailers. Now you can pre-order the score, and even download a free sampler with five tracks. Reznor’s work (co-written with Atticus Ross) will be available on regular CD, Blu-ray (5.1 surround and high resolution stereo) and vinyl. It’s also available as a digital download from Amazon for only $2.99 from 9/28-30.

Writes Reznor: “Musically, this all came out of our secret laboratory – electronic in basis, but mostly organic sounding. Lots of experiments and emphasis on sound fraying around the edges while focusing on the proper emotional tone for the various scenes.” Sounds about right, based on the sparse, moody opening track from the sampler. Download your sampler and pre-order at Reznor’s Null Corporation site (via P4K), hear it here:

  1. Thank you so much for sharing this. Trent Reznor is one of my absolute lifetime favorite artist.

  2. Well, what can anyone reallly say? The film isn’t out. A good soundtrack accents points in the plot and kind of frames a film for me; gives it the appropriate ambience. I hope this soundtrack does that. I don’t like it on its own…I kept thinking,”Mr. Fripp could have done it much better, maybe even Tangerine Dream.” I don’t want to hack anyone off. I bet I’ll really like the score…IN the film.
