Stephen fulfilled the wish of many-a-Williamsburg-coffee-shop-hipster while interviewing TV On The Radio last night, calling Kyp’s face-fro “like a vacation in a faraway forest” and seeming to get himself a “Colbert bump” in the process. After a cutely awkward interview, TVOTR rip through “Dancing Choose,” making up for their slightly off SNL stop. Enjoy it.

  1. “Cutely awkward” is an apt description of the interview. I like when Colbert said they were going to lose their “indie cred” after getting the Colbert Bump. Wish they would’ve done a different song, though.

I agree. Dancing Choose is one of my least favorite songs on the album, and it seems to be the one they always play. Still good though.

  2. Seemed to me they had to play the song double-time to get it in before the credits rolled.

  3. The look on David Sitek’s face when Stephen asked them if they won a Grammy last night was priceless.

I too kinda wished they did a different song, it would have been insane if they played DLZ.

  4. too kind with the “slightly off”

  5. someone should have thrown Kyp a lifesaver. relax, buddy,

  6. I love when bands act laconic because they think if they’ll appear less cool if they actually open their damned mouths and talk.

I think they came off pretty well. It’s gotta be intimidating to go up against Stephen (unless you’re Sir Paul or Jeff Tweedy), and playing coy about his character is always a risk (that’s when Stephen goes for the throat). So, just stay quiet and let him riff.
