When Pavement announced the five finalists for their “Play Guitar With Pavement” contest I was rooting for Steve G. (aka Steve Goss) because he involved his kid in his audition video and, c’mon, Pavement is Dad Rock in 2010. (Right, Zach?) So I’m happy to announce Goss joined the guys on Jimmy Fallon last night for Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain’s “Unfair” and (as a web bonus) a spirited, appropriately loose rendition of Brighten The Corners opener “Stereo.” No sign of his son.

Also, I still say “Gold Soundz” is overrated.

  1. Pavement actually played “Unfair” on the show. “Stereo” was a web bonus.

  2. Malkmus was wearing his “TV Appearance” shirt again, I see.

  3. Love when Fallon comes over to shake hands and only shakes the hand of the contest winner. Malkmus and Ibold are laughing about it in back.

    Gold Soundz iz bezt.
