New Interpol – “The Heinrich Manuever”

Earlier this month, you got a blurry taste of “The Heinrich Manuever” from Our Love To Admire, the Interpol LP out 7/10. Now, thanks to exciting advances in radio-ripping technology, and heads up from a few Stereogum readers, you can enjoy the tune (minus the first two seconds) in pristine 192 kbps compressed audio. Check it out here.

The tune doesn’t present the directional shift suggested by the group’s wintry website makeover and Carlos’ new floppy-coiff (dude speaks through his hair). To be perfectly honest, we’re thinking “Slow Hands Pt. II.” But this is a strong single, sure to grow on us after even more listens, and we’re so digging the haunting synth flourishes in the chorus.

So who’s Heinrich?
