During our nights with Fountains Of Wayne two weeks ago, FoW found ways to fawn about their pending cameo at Joe’s Pub with the legendary Neil Sedaka, whose CV includes penning “Breaking Up Is Hard To Do,” the #1 hit “Love Will Keep Us Together” for The Captain and Tennille, working with Elton John, and performing a service to disco by writing the English lyrics for the dancing queens of ABBA. Anyway, Adam and Chris wear that excitement on their faces, performing background vocals on another Sedaka classic, “Calendar Girl,” in this cute vid from that Joe’s Pub performance. Everybody’s having a G-Rated good time. Gotta love Neil calling Fountains Of Wayne a “new” band but, relatively speaking, you can’t argue.

I love them. But what’s it gonna take to make Chris look like he’s having a good time up there? Like, ever?

That’s awesome. Agreed with poster above on Chris’ sourpuss. It’s Neil friggin’ Sedaka, not Einsturzende Neubauten! Have some fun!

Hahah I love how Neil admonishes FOW repeatedly not to forget the lyrics, and then forgets the lyrics.

    Getting older is a bitch.
