Robin Pecknold isn’t the only Fleet Fox with a solo project. In fact, post-Sun Giant drummer J. Tillman had already released a handful of solo albums by the the time he started contributing to the harmonies of Pecknold & Co. The mellow, soaring “Firstborn,” which includes contributions from Foxes Casey Wescott and Christian Wargo, is from his newest collection Vacilando Territory Blues. Its Matt Blodgett and Matt Mastrorocco-directed video follows a flock of birds across a blue-green sky as they circle between the tops of buildings. Mesmerizing, but also dizzying.

  1. Not that i dislike the video or anything, but can you really credit a director for it? Cinematographer maybe, but i really doubt if the two of them were doing much directing of the birds.
