Stereogum PopGun CMJ 2010 Poster with Drums

Every autumn NYC’s week-long college music marathon is a great excuse for radio promoters and DSLR-toting bloggers to hobnob with famous publicists. Those who attend on official CMJ bizness even receive a canvas tote bag of promotional garbage. Also there are panels? I’m told There Will Be Panels. Joking aside, in its 30th year CMJ is now older than most of you, and as long as I’ve been attending it’s remained a solid platform for discovery and crown grounding. This year Stereogum’s throwing a party with our friends at PopGun Booking. It’s one of the biggest events we’ve ever done and of course we are calling the festivities STEREO★GUN. The gun in the flyer above is blowing bubble gum, get it? Clever girl.

It goes down Wednesday night 10/20 at Santos Party House, a house of partying with which we’re well-acquainted. Two floors will host over a dozen bands, many you’ll recognize from Stereogum’s 40 Best New Bands Of 2010 list.

To gain entrance you’ll need $5 if you RSVP below, or $10 if you just show up night of. You also have to be at least 18 years old. Curfew’s at 4 am. Dancing encouraged.

Sorry, no more submissions accepted at this time.

STEREO★GUN is an official CMJ event, which means we will be letting in some badgeholders for free, but you are still required to RSVP, which gets your name on the list.

(After you RSVP above, you should tell this Facebook page you’re coming, right? Right.)
