I finally have a legit copy of Down There, sneaker designer Avey Tare’s crocodile-inspired first complete solo album. It closes with “Lucky 1,” a song that captures the kaleidoscopic uplift and bubbly, boggy drag of the album’s previous 30-something minutes (e.g. it’s the appropriate ending).
Down There:
01 “Laughing Hieroglyphic”
02 “3 Umbrellas”
03 “Oliver Twist”
04 “Glass Bottom Boat”
05 “Ghost of Books”
06 “Cemeteries”
07 “Heads Hammock”
08 “Heather In The Hospital”
09 “Lucky 1″
Down There is out 10/26 via Paw Tracks.

I like what I hear. Better than expected
YES!!! love it.
Will we be getting a Premature Evaluation soon? :)
After four listens, I am starting to enjoy this one. Strange how it often takes me so many listens to get into their music, even though I am usually completely in love with it after a while
i’m definitely diggin this song, but i just heard Oliver Twist today and its even better! way different than anything i’ve heard avey do before (but thats to be expected, really). so excited to finally hear Down There… it’ll be hard to leave these songs alone until it comes out!
Album can’t come soon enough. This and Oliver Twist are pretty good and swampy.
This is not swampy…
Love Avey. Love Animal Collective. Love this new song. Love his future.
