Thanks Matt for the heads up on the first track to surface from Tim DeLaughter’s latest set of Sections. “Light To Follow” (that’s §29 for those compiling such things) is a sprawling thumper, all slinky bassline with a mix of digi and acoustic percussion, later tipping into anthemic grandiosity (it’s the Spree after all). Worth the grab, available at at YANP.

The Polyphonic Spree Pack the BottleTree Stage
Just moments after I had posted my interview with Tim DeLaughter of the Polyphonic Spree last week, his publicist corrected me. "This is actually the band's second visit to Birmingham," he said. "They appeared at Workplay in 2003." So I ...

I’m really not a fan of the stripped back, electro sound. If there’s 20+ of them, why sound like a four piece? I much preferred the fuller sound they used to make…I want fluttering flutes running all over the place, winds and brass going ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-baaaaaa! etc etc…
