Mr. Dream Learn The Language

“Learn The Language” is the second single from Mr. Dream’s forthcoming Never Elaborate. (The Big Muff-heavy anthem follows “Scarred For Life,” a song that reminded the band of Jesus Lizard, me of Pixies.) The Brooklyn post-punk trio are part of our Class Of 2010 largely because they write smart, ballsy songs. Also, unlike a lot of punks these days, they know their history: Drummer Nick Sylvester calls “Learn The Language” “a love letter to that pre-Industrial Chicago punk sound, but more filled out, more low-end, etc.” If you understand what he’s talking about, chances are you’ll understand this, too. (Thoughts, Albini?)

Keep your eyes peeled for Never Elaborate. Listen to “Scarred For Life” while you wait:

  1. Total pixies on that last song, except it’s a lazy version of Kim Deal. It’s interesting though.
