Liars may not be a thematically epic collection ala Drum’s Not Dead, but we love it all the same — wedding dance-punk to a darker post-Kraut vibe, including psych-pop freak-outs, and the odd Spector-styled wall of sound. Lift off comes via the raging “Plaster Casts Of Everything,” the lead track and first single, which gets vid-treatment from indie-friendly director Patrick Daughters. All three of our young liars are projected into the driver’s seat at the start, giving a Scanner Darkly-type facial effect to the proceedings, though things really get weird when Angus’s mouth spews spectral visions onto the highway. NSFW set, there are some boobs in there — though your co-workers will probably be more freaked by the visuals than offended by the mammaries. If they don’t like it, call the karma police.

Uh, Is that Karen O in the passenger seat?
Sounds good.
i’m a negative creep. i’m a negative creep. i’m a negative creep and i’m stoned.
It’s like an even more fucked up version of Burning Down the House – http://youtube.com/watch?v=6oVuLJS_Eok
That song is killer!! Crazy ass video. I agree with the Dr., that is definately Karen O. I gotta watch that again
actually it would make sense for it to be karen o — i believe she gave patrick his start in video directing, and she still says patrick’s her “best friend.” plus there’s the story about karen’s real tears on the daughters-directed “maps” vid, all ’cause her then boyfriend angus was late!
