When we posted Dum Dum Girls’ duet with Crocodiles’ Brandon Welchez, we mentioned that these “Dum Dum Girls” are actually the L.A. project of one girl. True. What’s unclear is if her name really is “Dee Dee” or if she’s a librarian. It’s not like we’re researching Thomas Pynchon here, so it hardly matters: The important thing is that she writes immediately catchy fuzzed-out noise-pop in the vein of various neo-Slumberland bands (and that she owns some houseplants). It’s also pretty clear she likes the Vaselines, which you should be able to hear for yourself on “It Only Takes One Night.” It’s like the vintage days of Chickfactor all over again.

So far “It Only…” doesn’t show up as part of a collection, but you can order the Yours Alone 12″ EP at her MySpace, but you’ll need to hurry:
I HAVE EIGHTY-FIVE MORE COPIES TO SELL, AND THEN THE PRESSING IS SOLD OUT. IF YOU ORDER A COPY BETWEEN MARCH 20TH & APRIL 29TH, YOU WON’T RECEIVE IT UNTIL THE FIRST OR SECOND WEEK OF MAY BECAUSE I’LL BE M.I.A.
It includes the aforementioned “Yours Alone” as well as “Catholicked.” Here they are again, just in case:

speaking of duets, check out the mayfair set, which I think is mike sniper (blank dogs) and this dum dum girl

of course you probably already knew about all that?
Catholicked seemed kind of indistinguishable to me, but I really dug those other two.
Ok, I’m warming up to her. This track definitely sold me.
