jj – “Let Them” Video

I opened the December Mix with jj’s “Let Them,” a track that’s takes T.I. and Akon and transforms the source material into another example of the duo’s idiosyncratic, icy, joyfully melancholic pop. The song would’ve fit well on jj n° 3 (one of our Top 50 Albums Of 2010) and will probably also fit well on the forthcoming jj mixtape we’re told to expect on Christmas Eve. Like a lot of their tracks, “Let Them” has a warm, chilly holy night feel to it — for its video, we go to an empty, shadowy, tastefully ornamented church surrounded by plenty of rolling hills and Swedish greenery.

See it in high-res at Sincerely Yours. While you’re there, “Let Them” b/w “I’m The One/Money On My Mind” is also available for free.
