New Calvin Harris – “The Girls (Groove Armada Remix)” & His Guide To Responsible Partying

23-year-old Scottish synth-and-dance man Calvin Harris learned well from bigmouths ‘n’ beefs past, raising his profile earlier this year with a carefully curated shot at Bloc Pary (“they are rubbish … they make very tedious music” — searing wit and vitriol, yes). None too shy, this guy — Calvin called his first record I Created Disco (reasonable) and the falsettofied, spirit-of-LCD “Merrymaking At My Place” is getting quite the roll-out. He’s encouraging UK youth have house-parties at their parents’ places, simultaneously — and he used MySpace to send out the party call.

The Brit press is furious, ’cause this internet party thing is a destructive epidemic across the Atlantic (you’ll remember Annie Lennox’s kid had a MySpace-invite party that devestated her estate, leaving poor Annie literally walking on broken glass.) But Calvin’s conscientious, and he’s responded with a handy video PSA on responsible house partying.

While you’re deciding whether or not to crash in on the merrymaking, grab this remix of “The Girls” by Calvin fans Groove Armada. This dude likes all sorts of girls. Let’s heat it for non-discrimination?

Also worth knowing, Calvin’s got love for you if you were born in the ’80s.
