New Polly Scattergood – “Please Don’t Touch (The Golden Filter Pop Mix)”

The Golden Filter were a necessary dose of late-night sexy-time dance music when we encountered them in Austin, and although their own jams are well worth investigating, their name and dusky disco vibe are perfectly paired for a remix crew. To wit: we’ve seen PB&J’s “Lay It Down” pass through the Golden Filter, as well as Cut Copy, and here’s the third: pairing the NYC crew with recent Mute signing Polly Scattergood for a meeting of the minds with similar taste in draping, peroxided bangs. (Which I might add is a very conceptual hairstyle, The Golden Filter.) The sultry whispered “Please Don’t Touch” is the source, and the Pop Mix starts with Polly’s scattered come ons and iced synths and gets an injection of the Golden Filter’s galloping bass, far off chrips, and speaker spanning hisses. It’s worth it:
